What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants offer permanence, stability, and improved oral health by preventing jawbone resorption over time. What look like small screws are actually made of titanium and serve as the artificial roots of new teeth. They are placed within the jawbone and fuse to create a solid base of support for an implant crown, bridge, or denture. As you use your mouth to eat and speak, stimulation is delivered to the bone, reducing the risk of facial collapse and tooth loss.
The 4-Step Dental Implant Process

- Initial Dental Implant Consultation – You will meet with one of our dentists to undergo a thorough examination. We will survey your oral and overall health and evaluate your jawbone density. This will help us determine whether you need preliminary treatment before receiving your dental implants.
- Dental Implant Surgery – When receiving your new teeth, we will perform the start-to-finish process in-house. You’ll receive local anesthesia before we place each implant post into its corresponding location for maximum support.
- Dental Implant Osseointegration/Abutment – After surgery is finished, you will begin the recovery process by allowing your implants to fuse with the jawbone in a process known as osseointegration. It will take several months to be successful. You will then return to our Arlington office once you are healed and receive metal abutments. These connector pieces help hold your new restoration in place.
- Delivery of Dental Implant Restoration(s) – The last step in the process is receiving your custom crown, bridge, or denture. Crafted by lab technicians using digital impressions taken of your smile, we will attach it to your implants and check your bite. You’ll then be able to enjoy life with a newer, healthier, and more radiant set of teeth.

- Make it easy for you to eat all types of food and not worry about your teeth slipping out of place
- Prove to be a cost-effective solution since you never have to buy adhesives or budget for relines or replacements
